The rose petals you continually encounter throughout Amnesia TDD after flashbacks, what do they symbolize/signify? I've been wondering this for a while and it's driving me bonkers, did FG ever give us any explanation of the rose petals?

I think I remember them saying something about it being part of the amnesia potion but I'm not quite sure that's right

Damascus Rose, an ingredient for Amnesia potion.
Also, the taste of Turkish delight Daniel ate in Istanbul, at least for me

yeah idk, but I mean the game loading splash has a rose in it. I would take it as the same way shaydar does, but also as a "glimmer of hope" type of thing, preventing the game from becoming super dark and evil, having some nice colours around brings the element of "just another horror game" down.
