RE: Amnesia and restore saved saves after computer reinstall
The save files are placed in ~/.frictionalgames/Amnesia/Main/<your_profile>/. I have also recently reinstalled openSUSE 12.1 after unsuccessfully trying to update from 11.4, but I re-formatted only the root partition leaving home intact. I didn't have to reinstall Amnesia after that, everything works as before, with all saves.
