I bought Amnesia: The Dark Descent digital download on Gamestop.com two days ago and I have installed it and the patch because I thought that would work, and I have read the forum but I can't realy understand most of it but I have attached the hpl note I know the OpenGL I have is not up to date but I can not find any downloads for the 2.1.0 version that I need.



Every time I try to run the game it says that the game has crashed and says this

Amnesia.exe caused an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION in module Amnesia.exe at 001B:00000000

can anyone please help me I would very much like to play the game and have ever since I watched a Pewdiepie video on youtube.

and do I need a dvd drive in my laptop to play th edigital download?

Looks like your graphic card is too old. FireMV? It supports OpenGL 1.3

It's possible the graphics card is not capable of running the game, its not really a card intended for gaming. But you can try and go to ati.com and download new drivers for it and see if installing them will help.

The FireMV is an ancient PCI card, newer drivers will not help. It is a 2D card with OpenGL 1.3 support.

I didn't know wether or not i needed a dvd drive, but I have fixed the one in the laptop.

Laptops are not upgradeable. Furthermore, your laptop is very old for games. Not only the graphics card but also the cpu, memory etc... are not able to support the game.

Yes, but it is for desktop computers only, not laptops.
