Need a Save. Help!

I made it to the machine room. My friend, who played before me, accidentally put a cog through a wall. I have no idea how it happened. It just went through the wall, and the cogs are needed to make further progress. Does anyone have a save somewhere near this point in the game that I can have? It doesn't have to be in the machine room, just somewhere near that particular point in the game (preferably before). I do not want to start over from the beginning due to a bug.

Why not load an autosave from before you enter the room?

I don't have an autosave from before then. He played it awhile back. He was just exploring, and he happened upon that room. Then, he accidentally put the cog in the wall. I didn't think anything of it at the time. I just thought it was a simple cog.
