RE: Editing Campaign maps
It's fully legal, but terribly lazy.
And no, you can't play AVI files, or sh*t.

You will terribly confuse the Frictional forums if you re-use old content.

People will point and laugh at your custom story. I've said this in another thread to a member who will not be named, because they completely copied the map, except removed all of the furniture/details and added flying naked guys. That's no bueno. Look at the game maps as a source of inspiration to create your own beautiful environment, and a way to see how everything can fit together so it looks well made. Never copy maps. Or they'll find you.

RE: Editing Campaign maps
I often struggle with how my maps are supposed to look, thats when I grab a pen and paper and start drawing them first. decide what theme the map should be (castle, mansion, sewer). This way it's alot easier to remove/edit parts that doesnt fit, and draw the puzzle, monsterchase, whatever, so it's alot easier to make the map in the leveleditor. because you tend to use much more time in the editor creating the room, editing, instead of just drawing a quick sketch and have what you want clear in your head.
