RE: Painting Kit Help

For the painting: Extract the "paintings" folder and replace it.

For the plug-in for gimp: Go to your Gimp folder and search for a Plug-in or Add-on folder. There, put the Add-on that you've downloaded.

RE: Painting Kit Help

AHA! Big Grin

I had the wrong plugin-thingy... All i needed was a .exe file.

Awesome! Thank you for the Painting The Chaser. I'm just gonna make a little more of them... It's gonna be goooooood! Woohoo!

EDIT: What?? When i'm going to export the file it says it couldn't use the plugin!
I'm apparently missing libgimp-2.0-0.dll. Is this common?
And i am not even missing it! I can see it right there!

DOUBLE EDIT: Ok, i don't know what that was, but it just worked, and i exported as .dds.

The Chaser:
How did you manage to replace the gray area without having 2 layers?

Everytime i export and overwrite the default .dds file, it ends up as the same default .dds. I don't get it

Trying is the first step to success.

I just opened the .psd with XNView, a very useful program that I use as a converter. I loaded the image and I made a fusion of the two layers.

RE: Painting Kit Help

I think that you don't mix the two layers. That can be certainly done. Following a tutorial (in spanish) you have to apply a mask to it and then degrade it so it's visible.

RE: Painting Kit Help

Sounds advanced..
I just tried making the .psd into a .png, then opening it in Paint.NET and exporting to .dds

This works Smile

RE: Painting Kit Help

I was thinking:

Is it possible to make those pictures into entities, so i can set them active and inactive?
It would make stuff MUCH more scary.

I'm not sure how i'm supposed to create a corresponding .ent file. Do you know?

NEVERMIND! I found out!

RE: Painting Kit Help

Sorry for bumping this, but I'm having a problem.

It's a long time since i made these paintings so it's a little far away now...

I have the .dds file i want. I know this because when i open it, it's the right picture.
But when i either other the .dea or the .ent file i get the wrong painting.

It's like the .dea file is opening the wrong .dds file. What do i do?

EDIT: Actually it's loading the first painting in my static_objects folder

Trying is the first step to success.

RE: Painting Kit Help

perhaps you collada (.dae) file is pointing to the wrong texture.
Open the collada in Notepad++ and change the adress(there may be more then one) under "library_images" to point to the texture you're using. if you cant find it use the search function.
