Jumping mouse cursor

I bought the penumbra collection last week, I am using Jaunty 9.04 on a 64bit computer, I am unable to play the game as the mouse cursor jumps to the right middle portion of the screen. has anyone experienced this before? might this be related to screen resolution?

One other user has reported mouse issues in Jaunty 9.0.4 64bit.

However many other jaunty users are having no issues with the mouse (but having other issues mostly ATI issues).

Try the suggestions I made in that thread.

I gave up troubleshooting the error and reinstalled jaunty which seems to have fixed the problem as I am able to play the game now. I suspect that the problem was with Nvidia drivers because earlier I was using the 185 driver from Nvidia, now am using the 180.44 that is available from the restricted drivers in unbuntu.
