Probably because they are not going to have the game at all for a release in a box and hence do not know any details about the price or form it comes in

No. It means they have no idea on what they are selling.
They sell other games on the high price and will sell this just like any other game.

When you are an admin of CDON.com, it's probably impossible to search info about every single game developer and see is it some big game or an indie developer and after that, you set the price.
Easier way: "Console game... it's about 60€-70€. PC game... it's about 50€. Done."
