I am having a similar problem. I purchased the game from steam as well. I am getting the "renderer #0" error message. I followed all of the tips that were listed and these did not work.

I am running a dell studio 15 laptop with a core i3 and 4gb ddi3. I have had no trouble running games such as left4dead on. I tried running the game on the lowest settings as well with no success.


If this game is not working soon I also would like a refund.

Either it only has intel integrated graphics in which case it is not capable of running the game at all. Or it has an additional high performance graphics card in it, but it does not correctly use it when starting the game so it uses the integrated instead. For this see if you can force the use of the correct card.
