Hey Guys !

You are probably aware of this already, but since Ubuntu 10.10, the Ubuntu Software Center sells some pieces of software. At the moment there are only 3 games (World of Goo, a MMORPG and a puzzle game). You should definitely try to get your games included, they would get much visiblity !

(BTW, there should definitely be a way to include demo versions as well... Otherwise many people will buy it and ask for a refund because they use some bad open source drivers !)

I can find very little about it on ubuntu's main website, specifically how to even submit applications. IT looks to be in it's extreme infancy and canonical is slowly going out and including software.. When things are more documented and the submission process is made available it might be an option to look into.

As the new ubuntu launch date nears, the newest software centre seems to have matured a little more, as users are allowed to rate and review software.

I myself would very much welcome the penumbra games and also amnesia in the software centre and an auto-patched easy install method would sure make things easier.

the people from the site OMG Ubuntu! have recently released a little game of their own into the software centre, my guess is that it is opening up more.

I do encourage the FG team to consider the option.

The issue so far that I have had with e ubuntu software center has been that I can't find any definitive information on who to contact or the process to submit games. So, if you could actually gather that information that would better help us review this option.

I might buy 1 of these games if someone could tell me if I can reenstall them on the next release of Ubuntu without paying for them twice.

For Penumbra and Amnesia you can always reinstall them w/o paying extra.. It's a good idea to keep a backup of the installer of course..
