Wonderful, thanks.

Just ran through it. The first thing that stands out is your lighting. You got a lot right, and you got some minor things wrong.

Generally you should have a box light engulfing the level with some very low light setting, just so it's not pitch black, like most of your levels seem to be.

You also have a handful of weird lighting artifacts.

Doorframe and floor.

Note the wall.

Don't even use a spotlight here.

Point lights are your best friend, use them around spotlights, and use them when spotlights aren't suitable (like the last picture)

Otherwise what you have so far is pretty promising. You understand what makes a good encounter, and it's pretty freaky. The only other gripe I have is that you have a lot of locked doors, too many, it's impossible to tell what the keys are for, ever. I'm a fan of how you have the levels
Spoiler below!
looping back on each other. Getting chased through the cellar and running away from whatever was chasing me, only to jump back into the first room in my panic somehow felt really fitting for a horror game (and later on when you come back to the first room of course). I ended up stopping after the area with the long hallway, where you find a note (which I couldn't read, since I don't speak german :v) and finding another key, with yet again no idea what to do.
I'm not sure whether I missed some crucial instructions or what since I couldn't read the notes, but after trying the two keys I was left with on a bunch of doors I ended up quitting.

Either way, keep it up, I'm interested in seeing what you do from here on out.

Spoiler below!

one of the two keys is for the door in the hall with the stair afte rthe cellar, when you use it there the demo ends.

RE: The Illusionists Mansion Demo
Hi, I tested your map. It was OK Wink

The layout and detail on your maps were generally good, could use some more detail perhaps. I also like how the maps loop back to the starting area. The billboards on the windows don't look so good from the front view and IMO they were too short.

The lightning wasn't very good like Sel said. Especially the first room/main area stands out... it needs some ambient light. Also I found that lighting torches and candles didn't help too much at all... you should tweak that.

Keys, keys, more keys, other items used just like keys... that's just boring! Try to mix it up a little please.

The scares were good!

Good luck with your story, looks like a good start to me!

So, it's not a demo anymore, it's a full release?
