I actually really like Outlast and its DLC, and am pretty hyped over there being a sequel. A lot of people compare Outlast to the Amnesia games due to the no combat / pursuit based gameplay, but they're quite different in story/tone/art direction/ect. I actually initially passed up Outlast for Pigs, but looking back, prefer Outlast overall. TDD will always have a special place in the darkest corner of my heart, though. Nothing could have prepared me for the absolute terror I felt on my initial play-through of TDD.

(Although Outlast is VERY showy with its gore and incredibly dark themes, which could turn a lot of people away. I think AmfP was originally going to be gory/dark as well, based on the concept art.)

Eight years of devotion to these forums and thousands of posts, and all it apparently takes is a strong opinion to get banned. This is why I fear internet forums in general. I've been banned from just about every forum I've attended. It's inevitable in the long run. I was banned from a taoist forum for "being a rapist", because I said the word "rape" and a mod couldn't read English, I guess. I was banned from another forum for complaining about how Indian phone salesmen gave India a bad name, because somehow talking about the shortcomings of India was "racist".

Rest in peace, Googolplex. I hardly knew you, and I'm a strong atheist, but in my world your opinions and beliefs has the right to exist.

I don't think that was all it took https://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/th...#pid331966
You won't be banned for having a strong interest and devotion to certain topics. By that logic, every member of the forum would be banned.

Just don't do a "I'm right and everything you say is wrong (unless I agree)" approach. Googol didn't always do this - but in some instances, did - even after several warnings.

Oh. Thank you for clearing that up. I tried to figure out why he was banned, but all I could go by was his own posting history, of which I only read his five latest posts.
In other words, do not be a complete hypocrite.
I really think Outlast needs to step up their game in terms of cliches. Like I know jumpscares can be effective if used SPARINGLY (P.T.) but I counted 5-6 jumpscares in the past 3 hours of gameplay.

Also QTE seem to be overused too.

I don't remember either of that, but it was awhile ago since I watched it on YouTube.

...but as for the trailer, this is basically just saying "we're making a sequel". If the satanic premise is supposed to get people excited, they're wrong. It doesn't even fit the theme. ...but maybe that's just the setting, I dunno. This topic lacks substance.
I wanted to play/watch outlast for the setting (insane asylum, although cliche, is still a fun idea) and aesthetics. I hope they don't go too crazy with this. Also idk when you came back because my visits are sparing, but glad to see you Cranky
