I seriously think I'm a asshole. I responded this way to somebody I was arguing about taxes with(they thought the rich shouldn't be taxed nearly as much as the poor and middle class because "It's their money!!")

Honestly I think that your opponent was wrong. Doing it like that just seems to be undermining most of the population in the long run and would just lead to dissent and public displays of anger.
