So I just finished watching The Wire. All I can say is that it is the most gritty realistic show I've seen. It was hard to get into, but if you invest enough time to get hooked you will be rewarded with this gem. This show stands on its own pedestal incomparable to any other show i've seen. Breaking Bad was great but this show is on a whole other level of class. The Wire doesn't paint a story where it has an end, the fact is nothing ever changes. It's just one big rotation with shoes to fill in its universe which is simply a replica of our own.

Why the fuck does Jedi get so much hate? It is easily the masterpiece of the trilogy. Best set pieces by far, and to me it is the most compelling story-wise (the scenes with Luke, Vader and the Emperor are close to perfect in every way). It has flaws, as do Hope and Empire (arguably to a greater extent), but to me it is just such a powerful movie. Aesthetically everything is top notch and I don't consider the arguments against it to be valid. First off, Ewoks. I don't know what it is about Ewoks that drives people to such rage but I have literally no problem with them. They have one of the greatest theme songs ever and actually have a pretty cool design. I just accept them as one of the countless other weird races in Star Wars. I don't even care if they were only in the movie so Lucas could sell toys or whatever. Second, Boba Fett dying is so insignificant that I cannot even recall it. Yes, I know that Boba Fett looks cool but he isn't a character. Basically he has one scene which isn't even about him and that's it. I'm not sad to see him go. The only valid complaint I can think of against the movie is the fact that there are too many concurrent storylines but at least Jedi can balance that unlike the fucking Phantom Menace. It's not like it is ever boring or hard to process. Look, I love Empire and all but I don't think it's the best of the three. It feels very unfocused to me and at times a little uninteresting. I'm goin to rewatch the trilogy probably this weekend to see if I still feel this way but honestly I think people hate on Jedi and praise Empire simply because it's cool. I seriously doubt most of the people who say Empire is the greatest can really articulate why.
