Robot pigs... I had that idea of a possible monster that would be a scary steam-punk looking robot.

It would make it unrealistic as it would make your enemy killable in real life.
The grunt brute suitor and tuurngait had extreme conditioning and strenght that is the reason you couldn't defeat them physicly.
A robot pig would be simple to stop.
Robot pigs. Entire idea fails to fact that it is not until recently we have managed to make robots which are way more dangerous than some Grunt. Storyline is set to over hundred of years ago, when factories was something impressive in a terms of technology.

So yeah, Robot Pigs back then would likely not be that dangerous since they would not even work. Unless they are made to work like Alexander did with his servants. Which would make them rather dangerous.

So what you are basically saying, is that the audio for the game will be too quiet and won't work right for anyone who has a set of stereo speakers or head phones that do not support 5.1 or higher, and that there is currently no way to fix these issues without using a guide online, right? So if I am a normal PC user that isn't tech savvy in these areas, I will not be able to enjoy the game the way its meant to be played. So, I am also correct when I say that you have no in game options to change things to work with stereo equipment? I'm just making sure that I understand these circumstances.

Of course you will! We have tested the game on a huge range of speakers (from tiny cheap ones you can buy from a supermarket all the way upto big expensive setups). It plays fine on all setups Smile
Okay thanks, I was just wondering. I guess I misread your post. I thought we were supposed to download a program to make it work for ourselves, and I was like "what?!?!"

Thanks for taking your time to respond to me Smile

Well... not the suitor, actually. They were normal humans, horribly twisted and tortured, but without any supernatural traits. I found it kinda strange that they still had the strength to walk around, let alone kill you.
But then, Justine was probably not exactly a killing machine herself and also under the weakening effect of the Amnesia potion, so... I can suspend my disbelief there ^^

Anyway, my theory is that the enemies are mostly figments of Oswalds imagination. (Insanity IS a recurring theme in Amnesia, isn't it? Wink ) If that's the case, they can be robot-pig-hybrids or whatever without having to obey real life laws of physics and technology.

Or maybe we just have to stop them... But not by hand... This time, the won't be just one.

How many monsters in Amnesia do we know there is?
Spoiler below!
They mention servants, in pluralis. But we only know the brute and the grunt. Though there is one place, where you are attack by 3 grunts... So far we only know that there are 3 grunts, and 1 brute...

I believe that if these pigs are robots, the metal will be protective... means they will be hard to kill, and how would you even do that?
I mean, you could drop it off somewhere... but you could also do that with the grunt, or brute. Someone did that in a video i saw once. So how unrealistic is it actually?

Trying is the first step to success.

The suitors find their strength in the misdeeds she did to them.
I found it rather shocking that she stabbed out the eyes of one of them.

While having lost her memory she was still a young healthy woman with a sick mind that is.

That is when you get nokked out and captured.
I don't think the brute/grunts descend along with you as that would mean there is a better way to get down there.

Don't forget the sewers where there was a chopped grunt and a normal grunt.(or was the normal one a brute can't remember)
Atleast 4 grunts although I think every encounter is a different grunt.
As soon as you get to the baby head fountain part in the storage I recall there were 2 grunts.
And one in the studie room (the part where the key is hidden behind the painting)

They can't all be new grunts. Where did the others go? They must be wandering around the castle. The one you encounter in daniels room could be the same in the storage..

RE: Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs Discussion

All of the enemies would be easy to stop if you had a shotgun. You don't. I don't see how a robot pig would be any less of a threat than a soft, squishy Grunt in that regard. A tampon with fangs would be equally dangerous within the confines of Amnesia's gameplay.

Not that I think there will be robot pigs haha.

By the way, I managed to have two Brutes chasing me at the same time in the sewers. It was around the point where you have to:

Spoiler below!
distract the Brute with a rock and run passed him. I seem to remember that a spawned Brute from slightly earlier hadn't despawned because I decided to just run for it, causing him to chase me and thus remain in the level. As I passed the area where the "distract me" Brute usually is there was nothing there (presumably because the other Brute was still chasing me) but as soon as I got to the script-triggering door on the way to the ladder the second brute spawned behind me alongside the first one, and both of them were hacking me to pieces in seconds because I decided to stop and have a look.
It'd be awesome if Dan's love of the Doom games caused him to introduce monster in-fighting in Amnesia. How cool would it be to make two monsters to start attacking each other while you slip passed them? It'd be a similar tactic to tossing body parts to the water monster, I suppose.

A cheat code which lets you wield a smoking, rusty chainsaw would be even better.

Dude. the two amnesias take in two completely different places and two completely different times. the only thing connection the stories is that they take place in the same universe. so no. There won't be any brutes nor grunts. only bacon!
I was only talking about the original ATTD.

Of course, i won't expect any grunts or brutes in AAMFP
