I don't have any night vision, I switched it of in White Night.
I'd like to hear what you think about the screens and videos I shared so far then.

Well, in your map it's not really such a big problem because you use so many point lights they pretty much act as box lights; your story is more of a puzzle story and doesn't rely on the light/dark contrast that is almost necessary in a horror game.

But I can point out a few things...

Why is the pillar in the middle there suddenly pitch black? There are four very bright lights around it.

The hallway here literally just cuts off from being well lit to pitch black, though admittedly this could be fixed with a single point light.

On the left there in the middle of the painting, the light cuts straight from illuminated to pitch black.

The windows on the right here look as though they're floating in mid-air

On the right the contrast between the lit door and the pitch black floor/area to the right is a bit sharp

Again the contrast in the mid-right of the picture between the water and the pitch black wall is pretty sharp.


And some other lighting questions, that I'm pretty sure are just because the screens are old etc:

I think this picture is pretty old and I'm not really sure what the context is (perhaps it's supposed to be this way) but the walls just cut off into pure blackness.

Again this doesn't look like a lighting problem, it looks as though you straight up put black walls on the left there. But one never knows. >_<

And yes, I am being very nit-picky here. But I notice these types of things. ^^
Also remember, you can set a box light to "replace" instead of "add," so that it only effects the lighting of objects not touched by any other type of light (or perhaps also by lights softer than itself), or in other words the shadows.

All of those screens are really old and a lot have happened to their design; and the problems you spotted are resolved in most of them, but not in all of them.
However, thanks a lot, I really really appreciate the constructive criticism you just gave me.

Haha yea once I start inspecting something I tend to go really in depth before I even notice how much time I'm spending looking at it. But sure, I would love to be a beta tester if it ever came down to it. I'm sure you know where to find me. Tongue All I'd ask is that you play my story too once it finally comes out (which will hopefully be very soon). ^^

You might just started a criticism flow, they're coming from all the ways, lol. I thought I was nearly completing the story, but it turns out I have a lot to polish :|

That's why you need to share pics with us so that we can tell you what looks strange or weird. That's the problem with solo developers sometimes: because all the maps are theirs they cannot see anything that doesn't look good. Everything is great because we made them ourselves.

Yes, that Limbo. I haven't played it yet but I know that t focuses on trial and death and so I really can't wait to. You reviewed it? Nice. If there is no english version I will use later tonight google translator to read what you wrote! Smile
