Oh gee, I'm sorry that what I saw in the trailer doesn't appeal to me, but it does to you, therefore it's ironic that I don't like what I saw
In his post, did he ever state anything about irony or that your opinion is wrong in some way?
He simply stated that he is interested in it.

I'll surely check this out! Looks like it could be lots of fun.
You're joking right?

His tone also implies he thinks there's something very wrong with my opinion

I'm definitely going to check this game out, but the trailer itself doesn't present the game that well I feel is all

I don't like the way it's interacting with objects, way too much like Penumbra.

Right and wrong, to be honest. He does mention irony, but what his tone implies is completely subjective. For instance, to me it does not imply that your opinion is wrong, but that he feels you are calling the game off do to the trailer (which as you state above is not correct).

But yes, though the fact outside in daylight shots exist create a different feel, I could see the game playing very much the same.

*Random Sound* .... "What was that!?" .... *See's nothing is happening* ... "Phew!" ... *take's 5 steps* ... *door explodes randomly* ... "FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU"

Yes, this should help set it apart and create a different feel for the game type.
I am very curious, and my curiosity only grows!

RE: Time Killer Until AMFP (Anna)
Clearly heavily inspired by amnesia - the font at the end of the trailer lighting up to reveal the same background colour as amnesia's - but I don't neccesarily think that's a bad thing. I'd rather have a thousand amnesia-alike's than 5 masterpieces of jump scares and doom 3 alike's.
Interested, but wonder whether the developers have stated which games they took influence from? Or even films. The folklore can't be the only source they're using - it's far too like amnesia -even in the lighting style- to not be inspired at least in part by it.

Yes, more similar to Penumbra than Amnesia but IMHO that's a good thing.

I read a while back about it on steam's Rock, Paper, Shotgun. They of course compared it to amnesia, so that's where I'll always assume they took influence. Biased but oh well.

If you can find the time, mind finding the article? I'm pretty bad at finding things on the internet, had a try myself.
