The child thing could work. It is linked to sadness and moral choices.

Even MonsterEggHead's release dates are more reliable than Moddb's

I wrote something about this a while back. Looks like he pops up a couple times in the trailer, 0:39 and 0:45, here's my ten cents on the matter:

First thing I thought off when seeing this is F.E.A.R.'s scares with Alma: a little kid who basically walks around haunting you, disappearing around corners and popping up in different places. My hope and dream is that they'll go for a little Asian style horror with Oswald's kid, since I believe that it's going to be central to the story. In an interview with Pinchbeck, it was revealed that we'll get "several interlocking [plot] strands, which you’ll experience simultaneously as you progress through the game," and that, "Some take place in the past, some in the present, and some are overtly real while some may be imagined." My guess is that on top of having to deal with the pig-monsters (or whatever they are) which are overtly real, he'll have to deal with the memories of his dead child which are manifested as some sort of apparition, perhaps a result of his delirium and the fever he woke up with as well as a guilty conscious. The first game featured a lot of scares from imaginary things as a result of your sanity, this seems like a logical continuation of that idea.

Did anyone hear in the trailer a little girl's voice that says "Daddy"?

Better to have a story and end it, then to never realise it has begun...

I heard it, and I was not sure what to make out of it after being startled with that "the swine will rise" message. It just sounds so terrifying, and the fact that they throw a little child right after it says that makes me dread how creepy this whole affair will be. Children, possibly haunting children, and lethally dangerous monsters. 0.0;

So curious as to what on earth might be going on! Yup, I am so thirsty for this game's story now, you have no idea.
