How come nobody has mentioned White Night? If you're in for a good story, great mapping and a modern setting, it's one of the best out there.

On another note, Deterioration is by far the best for me personally (totally unrelated to the fact that i quoted Streetboat in this post

That's because when it was originally made, it was an original idea. Now "joke maps" consist of screaming naked men flying at you at an alarming rate. Aside from that, it had a lot more effort put into it than all of today's custom stories do. Nowadays, you'll be lucky if you play a map with more than 30 minutes worth of work put into it. And don't even get me started on the "story lines" where (at least) 70% of them when you "wake up and have no clue who you are/what you're doing/where you are". Honestly, everything good that can be done with this engine has already been done.

Heh, can't really release any details at the moment, but I can guarantee you that's totally wrong.
