I think he means gay people that act stereotypically gay because that's the only thing they have going for them.

i find the concept of gray pride to be just as harmful as homophobia in a lot of cases and think the idea in general is pretty fucking stupid. for one why the fuck should you be proud of something you were born with? this applies to pride in nationality, gender, etc. etc. too. i mean i didn't do anything to "earn" being the way i am so i see no reason why i should be proud of it. i obviously also don't have a problem with it or hate myself for it or anything stupid like that but i don't need to justify being okay with the way i am with some stupid form of pride.
on top of it that same sort of thought process just leads to furthering the mindset of "gay people are different and straight people are the norm" that homophobia does. if you hold some sort of pride in your sexuality than it's just furthering this idea that you're different in some way (since apparently you have something to be proud in, whereas straight people don't), and even if the discrimination isn't negative like the result of homophobia, any discrimination, whether it be positive or negative, is fucking annoying.
