Totally random here and please let me know if someone has already mentioned this or it belongs in another thread.

Humans have black boxes.....Machines have black boxes.

WAU monitors black boxes, with data such as physical stats and brain patterns. It also records what they were doing before death. What's to say WAU can't record more, like a persons total mind?

Machines think they're human because WAU uploads the human consciousness (or at least a recorded version) to the them via the black boxes, upon death. You could argue that Golaski was alive when he met his machine self, which is why I mention recorded as well as transferred.

Why it does this, I have no idea. Maybe a way of escaping death? The people probably don't remember their deaths because that would lead to trauma, suicide and perma death (so to speak).

Machines also think they're bodies are human, because that data is being relayed to them by WAU, to again, to avoid people going insane.
Don't watch too much gameplay.

Yep. It's hard not to watch any new footage but I'll resist from now on. Smile I've seen already too much.
Ashtoreth drew my attention to something in the interview with Aaron Clifford I posted. When asked if SOMA will have custom stories, he says:

"Yes, from day one you will be able to mod the game on the Steam marketplace..." [click here]

I think he meant to say "Steam Workshop", because I don't think modding has anything to do with the marketplace, but this is an interesting development. Installing custom stories will presumably be much, much easier for people who would otherwise be overwhelmed with the whole thing if the Steam Workshop is indeed being used as a mod platform for SOMA.

And this might also explain why only the Steam logo was shown at the end of the trailer (with no mention of GOG, Desura, etc.).

If it's true that SOMA will have Steam Workshop integration, how do the modders amongst you feel about that?

Now they'll have another site to show thier mods besides ModB.

Also, do you guys think there will be a playable demo soon? I mean, the game is done. Just need to polish and fix some bugs. I think a demo would be nice.

Yes sorry, meant Workshop!

And regarding the FoV, the standard is 90 and slider is included in the settings.

Oh, great!

There will be a developer commentary too?

That is awesome. Alongside the Steam Workshop integration, will the developer tools for HPL3 be available to download off Steam as tools?
